After an unexpected search warrant was executed at the home of our client, police charged him with using a carriage service to solicit child abuse material online. Our client was arrested and taken back to the police station at Orange.

Whilst in custody, our Principal Lawyer Tayla Regan gave immediate advice to our client. He thereafter exercised his right and did not partake in a police interview that was offered to him.

Due to the seriousness of the charge, the local police bail refused our client.

This meant that our client would be brought before the local court within the next few hours.

During this time, Ms Regan gathered all essential information from our client's family for a bail application. This included preparing a proposed list of bail conditions that we believed were powerful enough to convince the magistrate to grant him release.

In the afternoon, the matter proceeded to a Bail Application.

The police prosecutor heavily opposed his release, claiming that he presented an unacceptable risk to the community.

We made lengthy submissions to the Magistrate at Orange Local Court, addressing the current weaknesses in the police case, our client's ability to show compliance with previous orders and bail conditions and the extreme delay our client will face while the police continue investigations and the matter waits for an inevitable Trial date.

The Magistrate was convinced that the bail proposal put forward by Ms Regan would ameliorate any bail concerns of the court. Our client was then immediately granted bail pending the lengthy court process ahead.
